8. Data Protection for Users in Designated Countries
VOOX acts as a data controller for your personal data.
8.1 Legal Basis for Data Processing
We process personal data based on legal grounds, including:

8.2 Your Rights

Under the conditions provided by law, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data.
However, in certain circumstances (such as compliance with legal obligations or for legal purposes),
we may not be able to fulfil your deletion request.
How to cancel your account and delete data:
You may directly apply for account cancellation through the Voox APP to exercise your right to
erasure. The operation path is:
Voox APP → User Center → Security Center → Delete Account.
Upon submission of
your cancellation request, we will delete or anonymise your personal data in accordance with
applicable law and this agreement (except where retention is required by applicable law).
You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances.
You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to our processing of your personal data based on legitimate interests and other grounds.
You have the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and have the right, where technically feasible, to request that such data be transmitted directly to another data controller.
9. Data Retention
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the following factors:
the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data; the potential risk of harm from unauthorised
use or disclosure; the purposes for which the personal data is processed and whether those purposes
can be achieved through other means; and any applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or related
requirements.
When establishing the retention period for your personal data, we generally take
into account:
- • Legal obligations: For example, under the Seychelles Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Act, we are required to retain certain personal data for a minimum of seven (7) years after the end of our business relationship with you. This period may be extended where required by law.
- • Litigation and defence: Where we have reasonable grounds to believe that a claim or dispute relating to you may arise, we may retain relevant information (such as correspondence and transaction records) for up to ten (10) years, depending on the applicable statutory limitation period.
- • Regulatory and audit requirements: Where laws or professional standards require us to retain certain records for audit or compliance purposes, the corresponding requirements will apply.
- • Legitimate business needs: Such as preventing abuse of our activities, maintaining the integrity of our services, or ensuring the accurate preservation of records.
- • Complaint handling: Personal data may be required when investigating or resolving a complaint.
Once the applicable retention period has expired, or the personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, we will securely delete, anonymise, or otherwise render it permanently inaccessible. Irreversibly anonymised data may be retained indefinitely and used for purposes such as statistics, analysis or service improvement.
10. Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected personal data from a child, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
11. California Users' Privacy Rights
Under California law, residents may request a report on what personal information we share with third parties for direct marketing purposes. You can request this information once a year, free of charge. To make such a request, please send us an email with the subject line "California Privacy Right Notice."
